It took the perseverance of a woman to deal out what could be an eventual deadly blow to illegal immigration. Under the law, now sanctioned by the Supreme Court, the State can heavily fine violators who hire illegal aliens and have their business licenses revoked. It's all legal now.
Rick Perry and most Republican leaders do not want anything effective to control illegal immigration. They posture to the contrary, pandering to rank and file Republicans who do not understand what they are up against. Recently, Rick Perry toured the border with less-than-brilliant Greta Van Susteren, and the focus was only upon the fence and the stories of ranchers, some of who live seventy miles from the border. Obama's TBS program was not mentioned. TBS means "turn them back south" without making a record of illegal aliens encountered along the border. This way, Obama can manipulate statistics and show fewer "apprehensions," supposedly to pave the way for an amnesty for the "law abiding" illegal aliens.
If they lose in November, 2012, Republicans can only blame their own greed and ill-advised lingering, thinking that Jan Brewer would fail. Now that Brewer is backed by a Supreme Court Decision, they are probably as flabbergasted as that preacher who predicted the end of the world May 21.
Meanwhile, Obama is vigorously pursuing a new program to get as many aliens naturalized as possible in the next 17 months, hoping they will be enough to keep him in office. It takes only about a year for a resident alien to become a citizen, once they file the papers. The Government will farm out most of the processing to the Catholic Church, a so-called Qualified Designated Entity (QDE). At the urging of Obama, they will no doubt put the applications on the fast track.
The Tea Party needs to take a closer look at illegal immigration and those politicians who only posture, and are not serious, about stopping it.

Newt Gingrich is bad for America.
Newt Gingrich says that we are not going to deport the illegal aliens now in the United States. He says we need "something between amnesty and deportation." Anything less than deportation is amnesty. I suppose Gingrich has not yet thought up a new word for his brand of amnesty. Doublespeak takes a lot of thought and creativity. It comes easy only if you are George Orwell, who coined the word, "doublespeak" in his book, 1984. Bush 43 could come up with only "path to citizenship," as doublespeak for his version of amnesty, but it fooled nobody.
Newt Gingrich has always been in the hip pocket of the international corporations. If by some miracle he should be elected President, I wonder if he can come up a word to describe America after he surrenders its sovereignty to the corporations and the third world politicians who want to dump their impoverished, uneducated masses on America in exchange for the privilege of exploiting their cheap labor.
